Today marks the start of orientation for international students.. The stats are 88 Canadians, 30 Malaysians, 10 Singaporeans and a few more from other countries. It was more of a get-to-know-one-another session. I must say I had a difficult time trying to communicate with the Australians and Canadians alike cos of the heavy slangs.. haha.. Granted time, I should be fine. =)
One of the destinations we went was Mt Coot ha where we can have a panaromic view of the Brisbane City and some suburbs including St Lucia (where UQ is located)
Ended off at Regetta bar where many stayed on to have a drink and interact. (One main social aspect of Australians are they drink, and I mean alot! compared to Singaporeans.. haha) While I began my journey back to UQ via "Citycat Ferry". It was a joyful and peaceful ride. Very cheap! Only $1.20 student fare for all trips in 2 hours.
