Joy of the Lord

Woke up feeling refreshed and reflecting on the Praise and Worship session we had in lifegroup last night.

I was assigned to lead Praise and this time, it was different cos we had only a "keyboardist". Also, because I wanted to do away with the hillsongs which we usually sing for Praise in LG and church service, it made the selection process much tougher.

Looking through the youtubes (which I normally do when it comes to selection of PnW songs) and playing the "saved" videos, it dawned on me that it is gonna be a tough selection. Prayed and prayed. Finally had to call J* for help. Eventually came up with 2 songs - I Walk By Faith and Every Move I Make.

Honestly, they weren't the best songs to lead in terms of bringing up the atmosphere. But as it turned out, we managed to come up with some simple actions for "Every Move I Make" and we prayed specifically for that song to not be a "distraction" cos there's literally no pause in between. This coupled with the actions, we never once complete the song during practice. We prayed and we surrendered that to God. God has always been faithful and as we sang during the actual one last night. we just felt this joy in singing and dancing. In the end, the joy of the Lord "is" our strength (Neh 8:10)

*HJ was superb in her piano skills. *Celine has a beautiful voice and certainly did a great job as support. *Doris has this "still" voice as she read out the verses between the worship songs. That still, small, reassuring voice. That is so comforting and calming to hear. Certainly lives out what she preaches in 1 Cor 15:58... AND she's always so joyful!!! cos she has complete faith in God. hehe

Thank you Lord for this wonderful experience. Learning to surrender every worry and to fully trust in You. To stand firm in our faith; to be men of courage.

Praise and glory to God :)
