As I reflect on the latest rotation (Internal Medicine) that just gone by, God has really seen me through every day of it. Great n knowledgeable, friendly and humble consultants, registrars, interns and nurses who went beyond means to provide opportunities for my med partner, Jane and I to learn.
Yes they were testing, physically and mentally every day from 8-5pm. But Jane and I reckon we enjoyed it really much as this really makes us feel like a junior doctor! Steep learning curve where we get to do procedures such as cannulation, Arterial Blood Gases and witness a thoracentesis. Praise God for that.
Jane was amazing and encouraging all the way. "You can do it!.. You were awesome!.. Go kick ass!.." Haha.. She's been the best mate ever to work with and we'll miss the morning ward rounds together and the interactions with the friendly interns.
To top it off, the exams were great! Not exactly the sense of knowledge as I have loads to catch up on, comparatively with my peers, it was God's peace that stood with me throughout. I remember asking friends to pray for me as the day approaches. And God was amazing. He did miraculous things that day.
I was brought to a patient who had Mantle Cell Leukemia and Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia. This long case was really unique as it gave me an opporunity to share abt my past and give hope! Now of all the practices I've done on patients, I've never met a Leukaemia patient and God gave me one on this fine day. My anxiety and fear vanished as I spent the one hour interviewing him. I knew it must have been the prayers. And I get to share my testimony with him for the last 5 min ; one that's a surprise as I'd usually find the designated 1 hour too short to even get a full history.
And when the time came for me to present the history and examination findings to the consultant examiners, with a confident smile, knowing that God is with me, I presented it as clearly as I would never have done in my previous practices. I came out of the exam room feeling triumphant. All glory is His! Hallelujah..
THIS was the song that God impressed upon me as I took time off from studies. The lyrics were so impt. God was remindingme to once again, have faith in Him.
Friends, let us put our hope in our Lord Jesus Christ
Jesus went on to say, "Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you."
