There's sth about Alvin which we so look forward to when he speaks. To name a few, he's encouraging. humble and God fearing. And imagine adding "very" to every such desciption. That's how great a gentleman he is. And I recall people saying how God transformed him 180 degrees. God is good.
Some things that I got out from his sharing.. which i didnt take notes for but what he shared resonate so well and is applicable to many lives.
Passage from Isaiah 40: 28-31
- Depend on God and not any human being, not even yourself. cos you're of human flesh too. v29-30. So put your faith and trust in the Lord, always trusting and not doubting and God will give you wisdom and strength.
--> Allow God to work miracles in your life, small or big. As you pray for your gf for speedy recovery, God is the one at work and healing her.
- James 1:2-4 Enough said
- "Soar on wings like eagles"
--> Great characteristics about eagles are that they have double eyelids of which one is to protect them from being blinded by the sunlight. When attacked by a swarm of birds, its tactical plan is to fly towards the sun with it's special "sunglasses" for it will not be blinded but other birds will and give up the chase.
Likewise, in troubles we should look towards God, for they will run and not grow weary and walk and not be faint because they hope in the Lord, from whom strength will be renewed. Continue seeking God's vision / revelation for you every day cos He has one for you in every season and if you miss it, you might never get it again and often which is the case.
Seeking His revelation every day is a constant measure to prevent one from being stagnant or even backslide.
Let go of the past hurts, esp for gals, that's hindering and have faith and trust in God fully and completely. How can you focus fully on someone when you are still holding on to something of the past?
For those in r/s or seeking a r/s, place your hope not on him/her eg to change for the better but hope in the Lord and He will make the transformation. Because human fails, but God never does. He will not grow tired or weary.
God sees your hard work. Continue drawing strength from Him and allow God to direct your path. Entrust your relationship, studies and all that you are worried about in this season, to God and do these for Him.
