Quick update - Fleeting time, it's one month already!

Hi guys,

Just an update for those who are concerned (esp my mum who called almost immediately) when they saw they Queensland flood news. I read that the flood occurred in Northern Queensland, which is quite a distance from Brisbane (South-Eastern Queensland). So we are not affected at all.. In fact, the temp here is still as hot, a few degrees higher than in Singapore. Constant hydration is the key!

But if flood does occur here, it can be as terrible, else worse than the pic u see in North Queensland. Can imagine since UQ campus and St Lucia is just next to the Brisbane river.. Need to pray hard it doesnt occur man.. haha

On a lighter note, 2 more days and it's officially my one month stay in Brisbane!! And looking back, God has been amazing how he led me to the right social groups (Church, Life Group, PBL group and just meeting friends along the way).. For some of you who know, *hint FMPS 85ers*, Paul Lee Shanji is here for his studies too.. Gonna meet up with him to show him around UQ next week. Childhood memories.. lol

God has taught me many things, particularly developing independence and having a greater faith in God. You never learn as much and as quickly as when you are all by yourself, distant from physical help from family and friends in Singapore.
And God has been faithful, I see how God has placed certain things (sometimes unfavourable) in place the past month but yet it turned out to be awesome. Starkly, I was placed in a rather "shabby" house for 3 weeks so that I got to know Evelyn who invited me to their Life Group Gathering, and subsequently Hope Brisbane Church. Call it divine.. God works for the good of those who trust in Him; He has a purpose for everything.

Just came back from a peer-tutoring group consultation last night where the Year 2s will help the Year 1s in their revision and it just felt that there is so much more to learn.. Looks like the pace's to pick up soon.. But thank God for them for they really put in effort to help us. Studies up!

That should be all for now.. Prayer request: Mainly studies.. Good time management and wisdom in developing a good method of study and revision so that I can cover all in depth in time to catch up with the weeks of info.

Thank God for keeping my physical and mental health intact! Really by God's grace..

More pics coming up!

Sidenote: Aussies call "slippers" as "thongs" and it just sounds funny.. haha.. Anybody wanna buy thongs from here?? haha

Blessings,
jun
